Be a part of four interactive workshops designed to help families and their son or daughter with a developmental disability plan for transition from school to community. Meet guest speakers, plan and network with other families. Develop an individual plan and personal vision emphasizing the positive capabilities of your young person that will help them participate actively in community life.

Transition to Adulthood: Best Practice Guidelines

The Hamilton Family Network has been working with CanChild Centre for Childhood Disability Research (McMaster University), Bloorview Kids Rehab and Laurentian University to develop best practice guidelines for transition to adulthood for youth with disabilities.

Overview of the RDSP
Similar to a Registered Education Savings Plan, the RDSP is a long-term savings plan that will allow funds to be invested tax-free until withdrawal. Contributions into the plan will be permitted by anyone, including friends and family, with a lifetime limit of $200,000 which does not include government contributions or interest.  Click here to learn more
